Psalm 1 gives us a clear and straightforward promise: "Blessed is the one who does not walk in step with the wicked … but whose delight is in the law of the Lord and who meditates on his law day and night. That person is like a tree planted by streams of water, which yields its fruit in season and whose leaf does not wither…" (verses 1-3). Let’s ask ourselves — are we living like withered leaves or flourishing trees? The answer depends upon one key factor: what we choose to dwell on. When we dwell on darkness, we wither. When we dwell on God’s light, we flourish. By His grace, let’s fix the gaze of our soul upon Him alone. — Leslie Ludy
